Sir/Madam,
You may be aware that the Council and the trade associations
keep on representing to the government for upward revision of the
drawback rates for handicrafts items, keeping in view of the increasing
prices of the raw-materials and the
duties being levied on the same.
The appreciation of Indian Rupees viz-a-viz US$ and its effect on
the exports too brought to the notice
of the Government and requested to take measures by which the
exporters can sustain in the market.
Now the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of
India, vide Notification No. 120/2007-Customs(NT) dated 13th
December, 2007 has revised the Drawback Rates
for certain items including handicrafts. The modification is made in the drawback circular No.
68/2007-Customs(NT) dated 16th July, 2007 (enclosed).
The relevant items extracted from the above Notification are
given below for on the spot reference and information of all members
concerned and also given at the website of the Council i.e. www.epch.com.
